The first we knew about it was a text from Caroline's hairdresser saying how great he thought her hair looked in the Cambridge News last Saturday!!
We bought a copy and there we were!! - a double page spread all about Orb in the middle of the paper! Bit of a shock to see such a large photo of yourself in the paper! The photos were different the article is the one that appeared in the Cambridge magazine earlier in the month.
We've also made it onto the Cambridge News Website
Food Assembly - online Farmer's Market for Cambridge
The Food Assembly movement started in France and is now spreading around the UK. The idea is a simple one for the modern age. Small, local artisan producers of food (the sort of high quality food you'd find at a good farmers market) make their products available for sale on the very intuitive Food Assembly website.
You choose your products and then, once a week pitch up at a venue to collect your goods and have a chat with the producers. In Cambridge's case the venue is the Espresso Library, the very hip new Cafe on East Road (in the new building part of the new Fire Station.
Orb has been to the FA as a customer and was very impressed with both quality of the products we bought the price, the organisation and the venue - a really pleasant experience.
We will be supplying the FA as a producer from wed 30th March
So if you are a foodie looking for local great produce and can get to East Road between 5.30pm and 7.00pm on Wednesday this is definitely worth looking at - here's the Food Assembly website
This week's Food Assembly is still open for collection this Wednesday 15th March.
Twitter praise for Foccacia
One of the greatest pleasures of running Orb has been our engagement with our many an loyal customers. The face to face chats at our St Ives' market stall and at our door on a Saturday morning are a delight.
But in this modern age face to face is only one way of communication and many of our customers are avid users of social media. Every now and then someone who we don't know will tweet about something they've bought from us and this weekend we had two lovely tweets from a St Ives customer:
I have eaten plenty of focaccia in my life - but the one from @OrbBakery is just the most delicious - ever! #Kudos
