No more beer Bread - just for now - what did you think??
Last week we had a run on Orb's Beer Bread which is 100% wholemeal, including home made flour made from Over the Hill Brewery's spent hops and barley (OTH is Orb neighbour and good friend Dave Gilbyl).
We'd like to know from those of you that have tasted the beer bread what you thought of it. It was undoubtedly a worthy and robust loaf packed with fibre - how was it for you?
We've spoken to Dave since the start of the Victorian Bakers programme on BBC and we're going to try a loaf with the beer yeast as they used to in the early Victorian period before Bakers' Yeast was developed. We'll keep you posted

Orb's Prices Review 2016
Well we can call it a review - but you know what that means - it is unlikely that our prices will be going down!
We have had increasing costs during the year - buying more kit to help us meet the increasing demand. Also many of our ingredients costs are going up - and we've been sourcing even better quality ingredients too.
Many of our products require long and skillful processes - all of which takes time - and this is not fully reflected in our current pricing.
We want to maintain quality and not automate too much - as handmade baking is what makes us different. We also want to maintain our very long fermentation to retain the enhance taste, keeping quality and digestibility of our breads.
The price increases will not be astronomical - and we hope you will be able to continue to enjoy our products regularly and keep the bakery in the village and local.
