Back from Orb Holidays
We are back today from our holidays with our friends in Basle Switzerland. We had a great time; we went to the famous Basle Carnival (called Fasnacht) - we were up at 3.00am (no change there!!) last Monday to attend the opening of the three days of Fasnacht known as the Morgestraich. At precisely 4.00am all the City lights go out on cue and all the canival participants (and there are thousands of them) light up their lanterns and large illuminated placards, the pipes and drums sound off and away they go - marching round the streets for days on end! Have a look here for a video showing for some of the flavour of the event...

We, of course, also went to the mountains for a few days skiing - marvellous and this last weekend we went to see Base FC play a team from Lichtenstein - who they beat 5-1! A great time - chocolate was not bad either... and we also had some great bread.

Over Village Market - 27th February 10:00am - 1:00pm
...on the Village Green - hopefully;-)
We hope to see many of you at the third Over Village Market this coming Saturday. We are quite confident that we will be able to return the Village Green this time - but if we're not there we will be on the School car park and playground. We have 16 stalls currently booked - 10 food and 6 craft. We have a couple of new stalls to the market including the local Draycott Brewery.
STOP PRESS: Over Under 8's have a match on the Green on Saturday (10am K.O.) against MIlton - so there'll be lots of fun going on....
Hot Cross Buns back for Easter!
Now we know you've been able to get those awful pappy things that have got Hot Cross Buns written on the packet since Christmas at most leading supermarket chains, but the Orb real deal is now back in production - crosses intact. We'll be baking a mountain for the market and they'll now be on the order form till Easter.
..and Beer Bread is back too!
Just before we went away our good friend Dave Gilbey who's garage micro-brewery, 'Over the Hill', is just down the road from us, brought round the spent grains from his latest brew - a citrus pale ale. Mark will be making this into flour over the next day or so.
We are therefore putting Beer Bread back on the product list for a few weeks. We'll be taking some to the market on Saturday and it will also be available to order for Friday collection (see above).
'We loved the beer loaf. It was so full of flavour and different to other breads so made a nice change. Looking forward to it coming back in the future'
