This week's featured breads
Walnut & Wildflower Honey bread
This long fermented bread has lots of fans amongst our Orb friends. One of our regular customers was telling us how well this loaf freezes. Being a very moist loaf it comes out of the freezer very much the same as it went it!
It's made with a mix of organic rye, wholemeal flours and some strong white bread flour. It also has rye sourdough starter in it for extra flavour. A generous handful of walnuts in each loaf plus a lovely big dollop of wildflower honey make for a fantastic loaf with a complex set of flavour notes (as they say in foodie circles)
It is great as is with butter, or with cheese, or toasted with anything..
It costs £4 and is around 500g

Granary
Orders for our hearty granary bread have all but disappeared over recent weeks - possibly not the bread for summer... but as the nights draw in and the temperatures cool perhaps it's time to rediscover this really tasty bread.
It is made with organic stoneground 4 Grain flour from Prior's Windmill in Swaffham Prior. A small amount of strong white bread, a bit organic black strap molasses, yeast, salt and water. Finally an egg wash gives the loaves a lovely shiney crust.
Why not give it a go again - great with soup and cheese - and a delight toasted at breakfast with marmade or, my favourite, peanut butter, homemade jam and banana plus (if I'm feeling decadent) cream cheese - yummy.

Apple & Blackberry Muffins
And with Autumn in mind what about some wonderful Muffins. These are made with Blenheim Orange apples from the Orb trees and Blackberries that we've foraged from the local hedgerows. A great muffin for this time of year with produce that could not be more seasonal or have fewer food miles!!
Just enjoy...

Orb's Morzine newsletter?
One of your number has asked if we will keep the Orb newsletters going when we go off to the Alps in November.
We are intending to - perhaps not once a week as now. But we do realise that perhaps not all of you will be interested. So if you'd like to 'opt out' of the newletter from Morzine just let us know - you don't have to do this now ... you can do it anytime over the coming weeks.
Our adventure is now more real than real; we've got our plane tickets, we've got our insurance. And our new employers have sent us a copy of last year's chalet menus so we can see the sort of food we'll be preparing - and it all looks delicious!!
